What this covers
This policy explains what Credolay Ltd (“Credolay”, “we”) collects when you use the app, why, and what choices you have. It applies to the website and the dashboard at credolay.com.
What we collect
- Account details — your name and email, to sign you in and identify your data.
- What you tell us — debts, income, expenses, receivables, bills, and goals you type in yourself, whether for your personal ledger or a business one.
- Bank data, if you connect an account — balances and transactions via Plaid, used to detect recurring bills and track budgets. We never see or store your bank login; Plaid handles that connection directly.
- Statements and documents you upload — bank or account statements, payslips, or agreements you choose to share for analysis.
- Coach conversations — messages you send the AI coach, and its replies.
- Usage data — the ordinary technical logs (device, browser, pages visited) any web app collects to run and to fix problems.
What we use it for
- Running the features you use — the debt payoff plan, the budget and bill tracker, the coach, Scrutinizr.
- Generating the Credolay Score, insights, and suggestions from your own numbers.
- Keeping the service secure and working as intended.
- Improving the product — in aggregate, not by reading your individual ledger for its own sake.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your financial details with advertisers.
Who we share it with
- Plaid — if you connect a bank account, to retrieve balances and transactions on your behalf.
- Our AI providers — to power the coach and the Credolay Score's underlying analysis. Your data is sent for the purpose of generating a response and is not used to train third-party models.
- Infrastructure providers — hosting and database providers who store the data on our behalf, under contract, and don’t use it for anything else.
We don’t share your data with other companies for their own marketing.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the data we hold on you, correct it, export it, or have it deleted. Most of this you can do yourself in Settings — deleting a debt, bill, or income entry removes it immediately. For a full account export or deletion, contact us using the details below.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after you delete it in case of accidental deletion, unless you ask us to remove it sooner.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We don’t use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we’ll let you know before the change takes effect rather than updating it silently.
