Using Credolay
Credolay is a tool for understanding and acting on your own money — debts, income, spending, and what’s owed to you. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Not financial advice
Credolay helps you organise and understand your own numbers. It is not a regulated financial adviser, and nothing in the app — the debt payoff plans, the Credolay Score, the coach’s replies, or Scrutinizr’s reading of a contract — is regulated financial, legal, or tax advice. The Score lab is a teaching model of how a credit score moves; it is not a score from Experian, Equifax, TransUnion, FICO, or any credit bureau, and won’t match one. If you’re in financial difficulty, we signpost free, independent advice services — please use them alongside, not instead of, this app.
Your account
- You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure.
- You must be old enough to enter a contract in your country to use Credolay.
- The numbers you enter are yours to manage — we don’t act on your behalf, make payments, or contact creditors for you.
Connecting a bank account
Connecting a bank account is optional and done through Plaid. You can disconnect it at any time in Settings. We’re not responsible for the accuracy of data Plaid returns, or for outages on Plaid’s side.
The business workspace
The business workspace is a separate ledger under the same account — it doesn’t create a separate legal entity, company registration, or accounting record of its own. It’s a tool for keeping business numbers organised, not a substitute for proper bookkeeping or an accountant.
Acceptable use
Use Credolay for your own (or your own business’s) finances. Don’t use it to enter data you don’t have the right to hold, to attempt to access another account, or to disrupt the service.
Availability
We aim to keep Credolay available and accurate, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access, and figures depend on what you (or your bank, via Plaid) provide — we’re not liable for decisions made on data that turns out to be incomplete or wrong.
Ending your account
You can close your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.
Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we’ll tell you before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
